Prof. Luiz A. C. Lucchesi is a Professor of the Department of Soils and Agricultural Engineering of the Sector of Agrarian Sciences of the Federal University of Paraná in the field of soil fertility and chemistry since 1989, teaches Soil Fertility, and Fertilizers, Fertilization and Nutrient Recycling.

Agronomist Engineer (1981) and Master in Agronomy-Soil Science (1988) by Federal University of Paraná at Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, and Ph.D. in Agronomy (1997) by The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, EUA.

International Relations Representative of the Sector of Agrarian Sciences of the Federal University of Paraná, and Member of the Planning and Administration Council of the Federal University of Paraná.

President of Federation of the Agronomist Engineers of Paraná - Curitiba, PR, Brazil (2011-2012/2013/2014/2016/16). Vice-President of Confederation of the Agronomist Engineers of Brazil for the South Region -Brasília, DF, Brazil (2013-2015/2016-2018).

Member of the Soil Science Society of Brazil and of the American Society of Agronomy.

Researching interest in rural, urban and industrial wastes in agricultural systems of production as sources of organic matter and nutrient for soils and plants, with emphasis in biosolids, soil pollution by trace elements, understanding factors that affect bioavailability of nutrients with the objective of maximum yield, quality production, and environmental sustainability, as well as their behavior as potential point and non-point source pollutants for waters under which advises several students.

Consultant of recycling projects for animal wastes, domestic and industrial sludges, and municipal solid wastes to be used as sources of nutrients and organic matter for agriculture.
