About Faculty

The Mission

Faculty of Agriculture is, from its establishment until today, dedicated to its fundamental mission:  enabling students' achievement of the highest academic standards and transferring competences based on the newest scientific knowledge. All in order to make students competent to become promoters of development of modern sustainable agriculture according to the needs of Croatian society and targeted national development. To fulfill its own mission, the Faculty strives to improve the quality of scientific-research work and education, and inclusion into the European higher education area. Respectively, the Faculty is directly contributing to economical, rural and sustainable development, as well as the overall regional development. In accordance with the overall social and economic needs, Faculty has developed and is still evolving relevant study programs for the education of present and prospective students. Being the oldest educational institution in the field of agriculture, we are dedicated to development of Croatian science and agriculture by making our Faculty a creative and incentive place for studying and work. We strive for excellence and student care is one of the fundamental prerequisites in all Faculty activities. In each area of our activities we rely on high academic and ethical values.

The Vision

Applying the standards of excellence in scientific, educational and professional work, Faculty of Agriculture wants to strategically position itself in Croatian higher education and research area, as well as an internationally recognized and acclaimed research and teaching institutions. The fundamental vision of the Faculty of Agriculture is to define and implement all aspects of the development of modern education system as well as the scientific research compatible with that in the European Union. We aim at promoting a culture of quality, establishing of a quality assurance system and defining qualifications and competences of students are our key priorities. It implies continuous investment in each individual and improvement of teaching skills of teachers and lecturers, which would result in more complete professional insights and students' competence as well as their greater mobility.

The Aims

In accordance with the mission and the vision, Faculty of Agriculture strategically intents:

• To improve study programs, increase the quality of teaching and the efficiency of studying. To enable high quality education with reference to acquisition of the latest scientific and professional knowledge and skills for students, agricultural experts and other interested parties.
• To enhance international cooperation and international recognition of the Faculty
• To develop scientific-research and professional activities as well as collaboration with business sector
• To improve management and organization of the Faculty and quality assurance.
