About us

Department of Fisheries, Beekeeping, Game Management and Special Zoology is a successor of Zoological cabinet founded in 1898. The main activities of the Department are devoted to education, research, development and extension in all of the four fields. At the moment, there are twelve employees in the Department: six university professors, two doctors of science in the process of becoming professors, two assistants (masters of agriculture), a secretary and a cleaning woman.

The employees carry out 9 modules at undergraduate level, 11 at graduate level and 10 at postgraduate level. Besides, they teach at the Faculty of Agriculture in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina and at the Polytechnics in Knin. Every year, more than ten undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates finish their studies under the mentorship of these employees.

At present, there are three national and two international scientific projects in fisheries and beekeeping led by the scientists from the Department as principal investigators. Furthermore, several technical projects in fisheries and beekeeping as well as in game management are also being fronted by the Department.
