Opis predmeta

This course introduces students to the richness and diversity of viticulture and winemaking, as an important economic sector in the world through the data on the state of the industry on a global level. The most important wine-growing countries will be presented (history, environmental conditions, surfaces and varieties, and technological specificities in the production of grapes and wine). Particular emphasis will be given on traditional and most famous regions of individual countries, and their typical wines, descriptive and sensory - tasting. During the lectures and exercises, students will be introduced to the wine legislation in different countries (especially EU regulations) and at the same time their wine quality categories and labelling of wines on the market will be presented.
