SUMMARY

During 1996/97 growing season investigations of influence of different sowing rates (400, 500, 600 and 700 germinable seeds/m 2 ) on grain yield were done at new AG-cultivars of winter wheat (AG-5.12, Lara, Kruna and Lenta) and cultivar Žitarka as a control. Field trial was established on split-plot design with 4 replications and basic plot of 7,8 m 2 . By statistically analysis of investigation results it was concluded that different sowing rates have had not significant influence on grain yield. Investigated cultivars have showed statistically very significant influence on grain yield (P<0,01). According achieved results and LSD-test, it was found the greatest grain yield by cultivar AG-5.12 with average values of 9,129 t/ha. The differences found between this cultivar and other cultivars were statistically very significant (P<0,01). The lowest values of grain yield have had cultivar Lenta (7,597 t/ha). Cultivar Žitarka (as a control) has have average values of 7,642 t/ha. Different sowing rates have had statistically very significant influence on ears number/m 2 . The greatest ears number were achieved with sowing rate of 700 germinable seeds/m 2 (893,6 ears/m 2 ) and differences found between other sowing rates were statistically very significant (P<0,01). The smallest ears number were achieved with sowing rate of 400 germinable seeds/m 2 . Investigated cultivars have showed statistically significant influence on ears number/ m 2 . The greatest values were achieved with cultivar AG-5.12 (891,5 ears/m 2 ) and the smallest one with cultivar Lenta (716,8 ears/m 2 ). Cultivar Žitarka (as a control) has have average values of 795,5 ears/m 2 . The found differences were statistically significant (P<0,01). The achieved results are showing on posibility of production price decreasing of winter wheat, trough seed sowing rate decreasing.
