Experiment Station "Maksimir"
Department of Ornamental Plants, Landscape Architecture and Garden Art

Department is using 1 ha of experimental area for different researchs and student activities both on open and in protected environment - greenhouse. The experiment station comprises:

  • 0.5 ha of fenced land (across the 4th campus building) used for trials for introduction of perennial flower species as ornamental plants on public green areas. The area accommodates one heated plastic greenhouse with five production tables. The plastic greenhouse is used to conduct trials with potted plants and other species that demand a greenhouse environment for production. Also, the greenhouse is used for implementing the project related to horticultural therapy and for various student experiments and graduation theses.
  • 0.5 ha of fenced land (near the Department of Information Science and Mathematics) which is not used by Department of Ornamental Plants, Landscape Architecture and Garden Art at the moment.
