Welcome Day for International Students in the Winter Semester 2025/26
On 29 September 2025, the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Zagreb, proudly hosted its Welcome Day for international students. This winter semester, our academic community was enriched with 33 new students from abroad. We are especially delighted to welcome the largest group of Erasmus+ students (KA131 and KA171), alongside 13 students of the prestigious Danube AgriFood Master programme (DAFM) and 2 students on horizontal mobility.
Warm welcome speeches were delivered by Prof. Marija Cerjak, PhD, Vice Dean for Science and International Relations, and Martina Šipek Penić, MSc. agr., Head of the Office for International Relations and Projects (IRO). An engaging introductory lecture was held by Kristijan Bilić, MSc. agr., mobility coordinator at IRO, followed by Assoc. Prof. Sanja Radman, PhD, who presented the diverse Extracurricular Activities, encouraging students to get involved beyond the classroom.
The students then visited the laboratories of the Department of Chemistry, presented by Prof. Marko Vinceković, PhD.
The day continued in the charming garden house of the Department of Vegetable Crops, where dr. sc. Nevena Opačić guided students through the department’s gardens and greenhouses, offering them a glimpse into hands-on agricultural learning. DAFM students also had the opportunity to meet their mentors and discuss their academic journey ahead.
To crown the day, students immersed themselves in the magical atmosphere of Zagreb's Enchanted Tales, an evening storytelling walk led by Purgerice guide and storyteller Josipa Šiklić.
With new friendships, inspiring first impressions and a touch of Zagreb’s charm, the Welcome Day 2025/26 will remain an unforgettable beginning of their study adventure at our Faculty.
