Professional Support for Students with Disabilities

Since 2012, the Faculty has provided professional support for students with disabilities, which is carried out by a team composed of the Vice Dean for teaching, an appointed coordinator for students with disabilities and an appointed expert from the Faculty Student
Administration Office. The term "students with disabilities" includes students with serious health problems that prevent them from regularly fulfilling their study programme obligations. At the beginning of the academic year, students are informed about the professional
support and the steps to initiate the procedure for issuing a recommendation on special study conditions, which is issued by the Office for Students with Disabilities of the University of Zagreb.

About 20 students who received a recommendation for special study conditions in the last academic years studied at the Faculty. By restoring the three pavilions damaged in the earthquake, the entire infrastructure of the Faculty will be adapted to students with disabilities. As there is a long tradition of professional support for students with disabilities, we are pleased that the entire faculty community participates and helps students with disabilities to fulfil their obligations in the study programme according to the prescribed special conditions, regardless of health difficulties. To support this, the Dean's Award was given to a student with a diagnosed learning disability for outstanding achievement in graduate studies (the academic year 2017/2018). In addition, the projects conducted by Faculty teachers focused on people with disabilities, and the successful cooperation with associations for people with disabilities should be highlighted.
