Location: about 650 m above sea level (600-850 m), Krapinsko-Zagorska county
Area: about 35 ha of grasslands.
Grazing period: 180-200 days over the vegetation season.
Annual precipitation: 1100-1300 mm

History

The Grassland Research Centre was established by prof. Mladen Knežević as an experimental grassland research station within the Agricultural Faculty University of Zagreb.

Building and reconstruction of the GRC took place from 1996 to 2002 under the project: „Farmers Support Services”. The project was financed by the World Bank and the Croatian Government while implemented by the Croatian Ministry of Agriculture and Fishers.

Teaching Activities

Agricultural Faculty – about 160 students per year
Faculty of Veterinarian Medicine – about 180 students per year
Higher Agricultural School Križevci – about 60 students per year
Secondary Agricultural Schools – about 30 pupils per year
