Office for International Relations and Projects (IRO) at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture (FAZ)  plays a key role in enhancing international cooperation and providing opportunities for the exchange of students and staff. The office manages all professional and administrative activities related to international cooperation, focusing on the following priorities:

  • Increasing international exchange of students and staff

The goal is to expand mobility opportunities, enabling students and staff to participate in international educational and research programs, thereby broadening their knowledge, skills, and perspectives.

  • Intensifying participation in international projects

FAZ aims to take a more active role in international projects to enhance scientific collaboration, knowledge sharing, and contribute to the development of new research and innovation at a global level.

  •  Making FAZ more attractive to students

IRO works to increase the appeal of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences to both domestic and international students, offering high-quality educational programs and numerous opportunities for international mobility.

IRO gathers and distributes information on international programs and cooperation, continuously monitoring developments and opportunities for participation in scientific and educational exchanges. It actively tracks progress and innovations in the field of international scientific programs to ensure that all interested parties at the Faculty are promptly informed.

In this way, the IRO contributes not only to strengthening the internationalization of the Faculty but also to positioning it as an attractive and competitive partner on the global stage.

Furthermore, IRO plays an important role in providing support to researchers throughout all phases of project activities at the Faculty. IRO assists researchers in finding suitable calls for funding scientific and research projects. It regularly monitors available calls and actively informs researchers about relevant opportunities, enabling them to prepare timely and high-quality applications.

During the project application process, IRO offers administrative and technical assistance, helping with the completion of application documentation and ensuring that all necessary components are included.

Moreover, IRO provides support during the implementation of approved projects, overseeing the execution and assisting in organizing the administrative and financial aspects of the projects. The Office also maintains a record of all submitted and approved projects at the Faculty. This centralized database allows for an easier overview of all project activities and helps track the Faculty's success in securing and implementing projects.

IRO staff continually improve their skills through various workshops and professional training to enhance their knowledge of the latest rules and procedures in project management. In this way, IRO  ensures that it provides researchers with the best possible support and that the Faculty complies with the latest standards in project administration.
