Laboratory of the Department of Agricultural Zoology
The laboratory of the Department of Agricultural Zoology, University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture, conducts research in the field of plant protection against pests for the needs of scientific research and professional projects and teaching.
The scope of work includes:
1. identification of insect pests and beneficial insects
2. breeding and study of biology and ecology of insect pests and beneficial insects
3. design and analysis of experiments in phytomedicine.
For insect identification, the laboratory is equipped with stereomicroscopes and standard identification keys. For breeding and studying biology and ecology of insect pests and beneficial insects, chambers equipped for breeding at a certain temperature, relative humidity and lighting are used, as well as entomological cages. Microapplicators of pesticides, olfactometer, plant surface scanner and ozonator are used for conducting experiments and other research.
